After completing medical studies in Romania in 1994 Mr Stoica
trained in general surgery on the Edinburgh rotation then did a
medical doctorate in cardiac transplantation between two centres in
Cambridge and London. He returned to Scotland to complete higher
surgical training in cardiothoracic surgery, which was then
followed by three years of fellowship training in adult and
congenital cardiac surgery in three centres in Canada and the
Unites States. Since 2009 he works as a consultant at Bristol
Children's Hospital and the Bristol Heart Institute. His main
research interest is in measuring clinical outcomes in congenital
heart surgery. |
