Private treatment

The University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust offers a variety of service privately to patients. The benefits of being treated privately include:

  • Patient centred care provided by our dedicated experienced and accredited medical and nursing team
  • You will be treated and receive continuous care from a consultant of your choosing
  • Being treated at one of the largest trusts in the UK where you will have direct access to any additional facilities that provide specialist, intensive care and monitoring as required which can be unavailable at smaller private hospitals
  • All income generated from private treatments will be invested back into the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust

Please note: Should you require a day case or inpatient stay, your treatment will be booked with a request for a single rooms, however these are allocated to all patients based on clinical need and may not be available during your stay.

Private accommodation

Small single rooms may be available in certain hospitals, for example in the maternity unit, that you can request and pay for during your hospital stay as a NHS patient. Pre-bookable private accommodation is not available at the BRI or in our children's hospital. 

These are rooms with or without private bathroom facilities, for use by postoperative patients when those rooms are not required by patients for clinical reasons.

Private accommodation charge per day £75.

Private accommodation with en-suite charge per day £105.

These rooms are limited and can be requested but cannot always be guaranteed as rooms are subject to availability at time of admission.
