Dr Barman moved to UK after finishing his medical degree from
Assam, India in 2002. He completed the Membership of Royal College
of Physicians examinations in 2005 and trained in Cardiology in the
South West of England. He was offered a PhD Fellowship by the
British Heart Foundation in cardiac electrophysiology which he
completed from University of Bristol in 2013. After completion of
his specialist training in cardiac electrophysiology Dr Barman was
appointed as a full time substantive consultant at Bristol in 2016.
He specializes in investigation, management of all cardiac
arrhythmias including catheter ablation using either cryo or
radiofrequency energy with the use of electroanatomical mapping. He
also implants and extracts cardiac devices such as pacemakers,
ICDs-both transvenous and sub-cutaneous and cardiac
resynchronisation pacemakers.
