Dr Elizabeth Reilly
MBBCh MRCP(Rheumatology) PGCert
Training:
Hailing originally from the South West, I completed
Undergraduate Medical training in 2008 at Cardiff University, and
spent my first few years rotating around Foundation Programme posts
across South Wales. Following this, I spent 6 months working in a
variety of healthcare settings in rural Ethiopia, before returning
to the South West to complete Core Medical Training.
Having developed an interest in Rheumatology during early
medical training, I initially started speciality Rheumatology
training in Peninsula Deanery, and subsequently joined the rotation
in the Severn Deanery, working mainly at the Royal National
Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, Bath. During training, I completed
training in Healthcare Management and Leadership as part of a
Postgraduate Certificate qualification through the University of
Plymouth. I have been involved in local, regional and national
audit and service development. I am the current Chair of the
national British Society for Rheumatology (BSR) Trainees'
Committee, and am a Trustee for BSR.
Areas of Interest:
During training whilst at the Royal National Hospital for
Rheumatic Diseases, I completed fellowships in
Scleroderma/Connective Tissue Diseases and subsequently in
Spondyloarthritis, working within the national specialist
Spondyloarthritis service. I have published in the medical
literature on these topics, and continue to be involved in research
particularly in Spondyloarthritis, as part of a PhD on the topic
with the University of Bath. I am a member of the British Society
for Spondyloarthritis. I am independently proficient in
Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, which I use routinely as part of the
Early Inflammatory Arthritis service at UHBW.
