What we do
We provide paediatric immunology and infectious diseases
care for children and families with a range of problems including
severe infections, inherited immunodeficiencies and HIV
infection.
We run clinics to diagnose and care for children with inherited
immunodeficiency. This includes children who do not make enough
antibodies to fight infections. Some of these children are able to
receive antibody replacement therapy. This therapy can be given in
hospital intravenously or at home subcutaneously. We also provide
training and support for these families.
We share care with Great Ormond Street Hospital for children
requiring bone marrow transplants or gene therapy for particular
severe inherited immune deficiencies.
We also care for children and their families infected and
affected by HIV infection. We use current anti-HIV medication and
provide an holistic approach to the care these families.
