What we do
We offer a comprehensive range of services to children with
skin diseases including skin cancer. The service is run by Dr
Kennedy. There are two general clinics per week. Fast track
referrals for suspected skin cancer can be made.
Conditions we treat
We will see any child with a skin problem which cannot be dealt
with by GP surgeries or clinics.
Treatments we offer
We provide a range of skin surgery, primarily for skin
cancer, but for some other non-cancerous skin problems such as nail
disorders. We also offer skin allergy testing (patch testing) with
assessment and advice on occupational skin disease and contact
dermatitis, ultraviolet light therapy for psoriasis and a range of
other skin problems.
We also provide nurse-led wet bandaging, liquid nitrogen
cryotherapy, phototherapy, iontopheresis, intralesional steroid
injections and cosmetic camouflage. Some of these activities
are carried out in the Bristol Dermatology Centre.
Specialised investigations available include skin biopsy, skin
prick testing, patch testing, scraping and culture for fungal
analysis.
We provide the only dedicated outpatient department and wards
for management of chlidren's skin diseases in Bristol.
