How is asthma managed?

We have compiled a list of things you can do to help manage asthma symptoms:

  1. Ask for an asthma action plan to stay on top of your child's symptoms. We can give you one or you can ask your GP for a plan.
  2. Take your preventer inhaler every day.
  3. Carry your reliever inhaler with you everywhere.
  4. Ask how to use your inhaler properly to better manage your symptoms. View these videos between clinic visits to remind you how to take your inhaler.
  5. Look out for symptoms. If your child is aged between 4-11 years, or 12 years and older, take this questionnaire

You can find out more about the treatments available, when they may be prescribed and how they may help on the Asthma + Lung UK website
