2020

Despite the set backs with coronavirus (covid-19) we were pleased that we were able to continue #Conversations activities in 2020.

In 2020 we made a few changes to the way #Conversations run. Going forward we are spreading out our events and consultations throughout the year, instead of running everything at the same time of year. Based on your feedback, we think this will make this clearer and easier for everyone.

2019

#Conversations in 2019 took place on 16th - 20th September 2019 in St Michael's Hospital and 23rd - 28th September 2019 in  Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. It was a fantastic two weeks of activities, staff awards and conversations! Our events were genorously supported by the Grand Appeal.

2017

Our 2017 #conversations initiative ran from 25th to the 29th of September. We encouraged staff, patients and parents to talk to us about our services. Here are some of our photos from 2017:

Thankyou Marta

We think continuing communication is important and part of this process is including everyone in the discussions that affect them. The 2017 #conversations week encouraged us to spend the time having conversations, big and small, and with different people who are invested in our shared vision. This all contributes to how we want our services to develop and how we can all work together to achieve this.

Thank You Marius

We focused on discharge and how we can work to make it better. In 2016 we designed our Partnership Charter and this was launched during #conversations in 2017. We also gave everyone the chance to say a Big Thank You to anyone who made a real difference to their hospital visit.

Thank You Parent

The week was kindly supported by Above and Beyond.

2016

In its first year #Conversations ran from 14th to 23rd September and at the heart of the campaign was an aspiration to change current thinking and embed a new way of working in partnership.

47 staff and 40 volunteers gave their time to participate in 57 separate activities all designed to engage children, young people, families and staff in different ways including ward roadshows, hospital based well being sessions, dolls dress up sessions in play areas, reception events, job shadowing, and a fete in the hospital garden. The event was launched by a music video starring patients and staff, which reached 50,000 families on Facebook.

Well done to all the wards and departments in the children's hospital who got involved with #conversations in 2016 by fancy dress day! Take a look at the photos:
