Tilt test
A tilt table test is used to invesitigate collapse (syncope). It
will help to find out if a patients symptoms are
associated with a sudden drop in heart rate or blood pressure. It
is usually performed as an outpatient procedure.
Patients are secured to a table that can be moved slowly
from horizontal to vertical so that they move from a lying
to standing position. During the test patients blood
pressure and heart rhythm are monitored.
