What is TAVI?
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) is a
minimally invasive alternative to open heart surgery for the
treatment of thickened aortic valve disease (aortic
stenosis).
This photograph shows what one of the TAVI
valves we use looks like.
More information about TAVI can be found in
our patient information leaflet which you can download here.
This video shows a TAVI
being performed at the Bristol Heart Institute.
The British Heart Foundation has also produced this video
explaining the procedure.
