Cardiac CT

Cardiac computed tomography (CT) is an x-ray test commonly used to assess for narrowing of the heart arteries. It can also offer information about the structure and function of the heart.

The scan involves lying flat on a table that moves through the scanner. Patients will be expected to hold their breath for short periods and usually require heart slowing medication to get good quality pictures.
