What we offer
Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic
The rapid access chest pain clinic (RACPC) provides outpatient
face to face assessment for patients with symptoms suggestive of
angina. Patients are referred by their GP or A&E. The service
aims to see all patients in the clinic within 2 weeks of their
referral.
The RACPC provides,
- Assessment for suspected angina (including diagnostic cardiac
investigations)
- Information about the treatment options available to you
- Treatment for relief of symptoms and risk reduction
- Advice on lifestyle measures to reduce risk factors for heart
disease
We offer nine clinics a week from Monday to Friday. We also run
a chest pain telephone follow up clinic for symptom review of
appropriate patients who have been seen already in the RACPC.
Secondary Prevention Clinic
The secondary prevention clinic is a follow up clinic for
patients who have had an ACS (acute coronary syndrome) event,
myocardial infarction, angina and/or angioplasty.
The clinic provides,
- Review of symptoms
- Blood check including cholesterol
- Patient education
- Cholesterol control and risk factor management
- Medication review and optimisation
A further clinic appointment takes place 6-9 months post
discharge to further review symptoms, risk factors and
medication.
