Exercise prescription
Being physically inactive or
sedentary can lead to heart and circulatory diseases like heart
attack and stroke. Being active can reduce your risk of developing
some heart and circulatory diseases. These exercises have been
designed for patients who have had a; heart attack/Myocardial
Infarct (MI), Stent/Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) or
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABG) and are suitable for most
levels of fitness.
Before you start to exercise, it is important that you
have been assessed by a member of the cardiac rehabilitation team
or a medical professional. They will help guide you on how much
exercise you can do safely and which level is appropriate for
you.

The British Heart Foundation
(BHF) offer a cardiac rehab email programme. You can sign up for
this service on their
website.
The BHF has also developed a
series of cardiac rehabilitation exercise videos which can be
