Emotional support and wellbeing
It is normal to feel anxious
after a cardiac event and this is a natural response. For most
people, this feeling wears off as time passes and they learn how to
manage their condition. However, it is important to recognise if
stress and anxiety are not going away and if it is affecting your
health, relationships and daily life. If this is the case, it is
important to seek help from a medical professional.
British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation
(BHF) nurses offer a heart helpline on 0300 330 3311 (Monday to
Friday 9am to 5pm). The BHF also provide useful
information to help with anxiety, stress and depression management.
This can be found on their website.
