Outpatient appointment reminder service

Every year, thousands of patients miss their hospital appointments because they forget when they are.  

Text or email message reminders help patients remember their appointments, and significantly reduce the number of missed appointments.

Each missed appointment costs the NHS an average of £160, as well as delaying treatment and increasing waiting times for all patients.  

You will receive either a text message reminder to your mobile, or email, depending on what contact details are registered with us. You can update your details with us when you next contact us or via settings in the online portal at drdoctor.thirdparty.nhs.uk/UHBW.

If we have your mobile number, you will receive one or two text reminders within seven days of your appointment.  

We cannot contact you on landline numbers yet, but we are working with DrDoctor to be able to provide this option soon.
