Making a change to your appointment
We are making it easier for
patients who want to reschedule or cancel an appointment at UHBW
with the launch of a new online service.
This feature enables patients
to request to change or cancel their appointments via SMS text
message or by going online to the DrDoctor Patient
Portal.
We are partnering with DrDoctor to deliver this
service.
How to request to change or
cancel your appointment
- If you have a mobile phone number on our system, you will
receive a confirmation or reminder text notification of your
appointment with an option to request to change or cancel. If you
have an email address on our system, you will also receive an email
reminder.
- To request an appointment change, reply to the SMS with
either "Cancel" or 'Change'. Alternatively, you can use the
provided link to open the DrDoctor online patient portal to request
a change. Please note, all requests must be made at least two
working days prior to your appointment. If your request to cancel
or change is within two working days, please call the number on
your appointment letter as your request may not be actioned.
- Requests made via the DrDoctor patient portal will request you
provide the following details:
- Surname
- Date of Birth
- Postcode
- Patients will receive a notification via SMS text message and
on the DrDoctor online patient portal confirming whether
their request change has been actioned successfully.
- Please note requests to cancel or change an appointment can
still be made by calling the number on the patients appointment
letter or via an online form on the
UHBW website.
