International Clinical Trials Day 2017
15 - 19 May 2017
University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust celebrated
International Clinical Trials Day (20 May) with a series of
activities and information events, to highlight the importance of
taking part in research.
Research teams from throughout the Trust showcased the studies
they're involved in as well as providing interactive opportunities
for people to find out more about how trials are improving patient
care.
Events included presentations from the Women's &
Children's research team, highlighting the reproductive health
research they've undertaken; the Bristol Eye Hospital team giving
people the opportunity to try on a pair of glasses to see the
effects of different eye diseases; an interactive display for
children about why blood tests are taken, how they're done and how
researchers spin blood; the chance to take part in an example of a
randomised trial at the Bristol Haematology Oncology Centre; and
having your blood pressure tested at the Bristol Heart
Institute.
