Private service and shop

1

We introduced a new service outside of our NHS provision in April 2017. This allows patients the opportunity to buy hearing aids which are unavailable through the NHS.

We are able to offer behind-the-ear (BTE), in-the-ear (ITE), completely-in-the-canal (CIC), and receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids from a number of different manufacturers through our private service.

The Team

We have a team of 2 Senior Audiologists and the management team who run the private service. Our Audiologists are experienced in working within the NHS as well as the private service and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). They are able to guide you in deciding on the best hearing aid options to suit your needs.

Prices

The price of purchasing hearing aids through our private service includes the whole package of care. For bilateral hearing aids the price ranges from £2000 to £5000 depending on the model of hearing aids that you choose. This includes:

  • The initial consultation
  • A hearing aid fitting appointment
  • Bilateral hearing aids
  • A 2 year warranty
  • 30 day trial after fitting
  • 3 years battery supply
  • A 1st FUP appointment within 2 weeks
  • A 2nd FUP appointment within a further 2 weeks
  • 6 monthly aftercare appointments

Contact

Please contact us if you are interested in this service. Your contact details can then be passed on to a member of our private team who will phone you and discuss any queries that you may have and book an assessment appointment for you if you decide that this is your preferred option. Appointments are available on Wednesday mornings from 8:15am-1:00pm and Friday afternoons from 1:00pm-5:30pm. Please call 0117 342 5854 or email us at Audiology.dept@uhbw.nhs.uk to request a call back from one of the private team.
