Sunflower Ward - E501
About Us
Sunflower ward is our neurorehabilitation ward, located on level
5. We see patients for both short and long term rehabilitation
programmes. Our admissions come from across the South West region
and are made up of referrals, planned admissions, and transfers
from other wards. We have 8 beds that are made up of 4 cubicles and
a 4 bedded bay. We see patients from ages 0 to 16.
Philosophy of the ward
Lots of the work we do is focused around education. We like to
include children, parents, and families and make sure they're
actively involved in the patients care. Our team is a
multidisciplinary one so you may come into contact with lots of
different staff. We have a specialised discharge planning
coordinator.
Parent and Patient Facilities
We share a kitchen with Bluebell ward, this is in the corridor
between the two wards. We have TVs in all our cubicles and shared
portable DVD players and games consoles. There are parent
facilities available on level 6.
Play Facilities
Sunflower ward has it's own play/family area and we have a
rehabilitation garden in development. There is a TV in our
playroom.
