Worried about your child?
We're Listening to You.
We want to hear from you if you have any worries or concerns
about the clinical wellbeing of your child.
We have a formal protocol whereby your concerns about your
child's condition are immediately acted upon.
As an inpatient:
- If you are worried that your child is becoming more unwell,
please speak to your child's nurse or the nurse-in-charge
(preferably the Ward Sister / Charge Nurse)
- If you feel you would like to discuss your child's condition
further, please request to speak to a member of the Clinical Site
Team (CST).
Please be reassured that this conversation will be formally
documented in your child's health records.
- If you have any general concern regarding your child's
management, you may also ask to make arrangements for your
child's consultant to meet with you.
- Alternatively, during Monday-Friday you can discuss any concern
you have about your child's care with the LIAISE team, in the
Family Information Room, Level 2, BRHC. Call: 0117 342
8065.
If you are a patient, you can still use all of the above but you
can also ask to speak to our Young Person's Involvement worker who
can be contacted through the LIAISE team.
As an outpatient:
If you are worried about your childs clinical well-being at
other times, you can access a range of services depending on the
help you need.
- Your family doctor (GP) or pharmacist will be able to advise on
minor illnesses.
- You can telephone your consultants secretary if you have
questions about ongoing treatment.
- You can seek advice from 111 if you are uncertain who to
contact or the level of help that you need.
- Contact 999 in the case of a serious health emergency.
