About Our Services
Child and Family Support Services
We understand that when you visit or stay at the children's
hospital it can be a difficult experience. We provide a number of
services that are focused on making your time here as
straightforward and comfortable as possible, by providing guidance,
advice and support.
Some of the services are run on a referral only basis which
means that staff can make requests on the behalf of families but
you may need to meet certain criteria. The rest of these teams will
be available for anyone coming to the hospital. Click on the
title link for each service to find out more, including how to
contact them.
Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some services may
need to be adjusted or suspended at short notice to meet infection
control requirements.
The LIAISE team offer advice and guidance to families and
patients for a wide range of non-clinical questions around their

We provide emotional support and help with accessing or
signposting to relevant benefits and grants for families on long
stay patients or those with emergency needs.
Support is available for patients with disabilities, with
resources to help our clinical teams explore any reasonable
adjustments that you may need during your stay.
Chaplaincy support patients, families and carers of all faiths

The paediatric liaison team support children, young people and
their families with mental health needs whilst they are in hospital

hospital.
We have psychologists in many of our specialist teams who can
