If I am referred to a psychologist what will happen next?

We will offer you an initial appointment which you can request to be by phone or in person. In this session we will talk to you about your support needs and how best these can be met. The psychologists in your service will talk to you about the dates and times of their clinics and the options for support in your service.

Each psychologist in the service works as part of your healthcare team. This means that information may be shared with your team to enable us to work together to provide you with the care and support you need. If you would like part of your information stay confidential to the psychology team it is important to let your psychologist know who can discuss this with you. Information can only be kept confidential if it does not indicate a risk to your own health and safety, the health and safety of others and impact on your care.
