A Beginner's Guide to Clinical Audit
This one day workshop provides a grounding in
clinical audit methodology for healthcare professionals. This one
day workshop provides a grounding in clinical audit methodology for
healthcare professionals. There are a maximum of 12 places on every
workshop, which are free to
UH Bristol and Weston staff.
During this session, the following subjects are
covered:
- what clinical audit is and what it isn't
- how to develop project objectives and measurable standards
- how to design effective data collection tools
- basic sampling techniques and data analysis
- tips on audit report writing and presentations
You can also bring along any project ideas that you are
working on to get specific advice from our team of Clinical Audit
Facilitators after the workshop.

training to UHBristol and Weston staff only. Dates
available:

The core of the workshop lasts around 1h 30mins, with time for
further discussion and specific questions afterwards, as well as a
demo of AMaT, our new audit registration and management
database.

Essential Excel for Clinical Audit
We provide training in using Excel to analyse audit data,
covering the essential skills of sorting, filtering, using formulae
and producing charts. These skills may also be useful for
analysing patient survey, service evaluation or other quality
improvement data, but please note that this course does not offer
training in more advanced statistical tests, such as might be
required for research or in-depth review of clinical outcomes.

The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) offers an
online training course, which you can access via their website.
