Nursing assistants

For safety reasons we do not take on Nursing Assistants to our bank who do not have any previous experience. Although some training is offered, all applicants need to have a minimum of 6 months full time experience in a care role.

1. What part of the bank do you work for?

I am a Nursing Assistant.

2. How long have you been on the bank?

Since 2000.

3. What is your favourite thing about working for the bank?

The flexibility of it. I get to choose when to work and because I'm a parent this is really helpful. I can plan my work around when I need to be there for my family. Sometimes I hear people in other jobs complain about their employers not being accommodating with their family needs, I'm glad I do not have to deal with this as UH Bristol Bank are so accommodating.

4. What is your favourite thing about University Hospitals Bristol?

The sense of community, regardless of working on the bank or being a substantive member or staff you feel very much a part of the Trust.

5. What would you say to someone thinking about joining the bank?

I would encourage them to do so! You can slot your work around your life.
