Treatment

There are a number of ways that Thalassaemia is treated. You will have transfusions to help you manage your Thalassaemia and can read more about this on the above tab.

Vaccinations

Alongside your treatment it is really important you are up to date with all required vaccinations. These should have been administered throughout childhood and include:

  • Annual flu vaccination
  • Hep B vaccination
  • Hib/Men C
  • MenACWY
  • 3 in 1 teenage booster which includes tetanus, diphtheria and polio
