A learning disability affects the way a person learns new things throughout their life. A learning disability is different for everyone. No two people are the same.

A person with a learning disability might have some difficulty:

• understanding complicated information
• learning some skills
• looking after themselves or living alone

Some people only need a small amount of support such as in getting a job or managing money with others needing more full-time support.

Autistic people often experience the world differently. All autistic people share certain difficulties, but being autistic will affect them in different ways such as:

• repetitive behaviour and routines
• highly-focused interests
• sensory sensitivity
