Learning Disability and Autism
Learning disabilities and autism impact everyone differently.
Learning disability
A learning disability affects the way a person learns new things throughout their life. A learning disability is different for everyone. No two people are the same.
A person with a learning disability might have some difficulty:
- understanding complicated information
- learning some skills
- looking after themselves or living alone
Some people only need a small amount of support such as in getting a job or managing money with others needing more full-time support.

Autism
Autistic people often experience the world differently. All autistic people share certain difficulties, but being autistic will affect them in different ways such as:
- communication difficulties
- repetitive behaviour and routines
- highly-focused interests
- sensory sensitivity
