Epilepsy

Support

The paediatric team will support you as you start to think about transition, this team includes doctors, epilepsy nurse specialists, dietitians, and psychologists.

When you move to the adult team you will also see people in these different roles.

When you transfer, dependant on your epilepsy you may be referred to another hospital or to your GP. It can be helpful to make sure you keep their contact numbers somewhere accessible. If you are just in the process of transferring do contact your paediatric team if you are not sure who to contact.

For some young adults you might find your care is managed under your GP or you are discharged completely. If this happens contact your GP directly if you have any questions or concerns.
