Travel
As you become more independent you might be thinking of travelling more independently, either locally or internationally.
People with a severe or profound hearing loss are eligible for a bus pass, which will give free travel in off-peak hours. To obtain one contact your local authority - information is usually under transport.
Disabled Person's Railcards are also available to anyone with a hearing loss - these are better value than Young Person's Railcards and give a third off rail fares for the holder and a companion. You can find out more here.
