Our activity spans across a range of commercial, academic and
NIHR portfolio and non- portfolio phase I-IV studies and we have
close links with the University of Bristol. The portfolio of
studies covers all aspects of Cardiology and is expanding from the
core research areas of acute coronary syndromes and coronary
revascularisation field, into transcatheter valve interventions,
electrophysiology and devices, as well as heart failure,
hypertension and novel, first-in- man procedures and devices. The
follow up for these studies ranges from 7 days to up to 10 years

Our team of nurses, trial coordinators and doctors screen daily

Department, Cath Labs, Coronary care Unit and cardiology wards, and
we approach them to obtain informed consent. We deliver study
interventions, collect data, obtain blood samples, perform physical
and cognitive assessments, perform questionnaires both face-to-face
and via phone, appropriately liaising with clinical teams for
referrals or to escalate prompt treatment.
