Hearing/speech and language milestones

Children can acquire or develop hearing loss later on, so it is important to continue to monitor your child's hearing as they grow up. 

In your baby's red book (or by following the link below) are two checklists which outline the developmental milestones regarding hearing and speech and language. The ages presented here are approximate only. Babies do vary slightly in what they can do at any given age so speak to your health visitor or family doctor if you have any concerns. Your child's hearing can be reviewed at any age.
