Day surgery

Many operations, including those needing a general anaesthetic, can be done safely in a well equipped community hospital. We anticipate about 100 procedures a week will be carried out in South Bristol Community Hospital.

For the first time people in south Bristol who need day surgery are able to have operations closer to home.

The hospital offers a complete package from investigation and diagnosis through to surgical treatment and follow-up.  Surgery and endoscopy are provided by teams of doctors and nurses from University Hospitals Bristol, so that patients receive the same level of expert care as in a larger hospital setting.
