Training
The Scientist Training Programme (STP)
We pride ourselves in being one the largest and
most experienced Vascular Science training centres and have been
successfully training STPs every year since the STP began in 2011.
Within our team we currently have several STP trainees
in first, second and third year of their training.
We are part of the Bristol, Bath and
Weston Vascular Network. We work closely with our vascular
science colleagues, vascular nurses and vascular
consultants in North Bristol and Bath to ensure a well
supported and comprehensive training
experience.
Several STP trainees have stayed on in the
department after training and are now qualified members of
staff.
Our trainees have come from a variety of backgrounds
including:
- Biomedical science
- Physiology
- Pharmacology
- Biology
- Physics and chemistry
- Sports Science
The next Vascular Science, Cardiac Science and
Respiratory and Sleep Science STP OPEN DAY is pending due to
COVID-19 restrictions.
