CPAP devices
Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) provides support to
your breathing at night.
It stops you from stopping breathing as well as stopping your
snoring. This should give you a good night's sleep and you should
wake up refreshed in the morning. Other family members, such as
your partner will also benefit as they will not be disturbed by
your snoring.
Whilst the majority of patients cope very well with CPAP, some
patients do struggle. This is normal and the sleep team are here to
help you. If you are unable to use CPAP, all is not lost as you
will be able to discuss alternatives with the team.
CPAP devices
Currently we use five different devices depending on when you
were supplied with CPAP. To understand how these devices work,
please click on the links below.
Some of these devices have an internal modem fitted to allow
usage data to be automatically transferred to the Sleep team. If
there is a problem, access to this data is very helpful.
Alternatively, devices may have an SD card installed, which will
need to be sent to the Sleep team upon request to upload your usage
data. View more information on how data is stored and
transferred.
The links below provide access to company videos and our
in-house videos showing you how to use the device and get as much
benefit from it as possible.
