Where we work

We are the regional centre for oesopahgogastric cancer. Our main referral area covers a population of approximately 2 million people. As well as covering the immediate area around our main hospital in Bristol, we receive routine referrals from across the local region including from:

  • North Bristol
  • Weston
  • Yeovil
  • Taunton
  • Bath

Specialist services we provide

We provide the following services:

  • Surgery for oesophageal and gastric cancer including minimally invasive oesophagectomy and gastrectomy
  • Advanced endoscopic management of dysplastic Barrett's oesophagus including EMR, RFA and argon ablation
  • Palliative treatment for oesophageal cancer including stenting and brachytherapy
  • Complex hiatal surgery including revisional antireflux surgery and massive paraoesophageal hernia repair
  • Emergency management of oesophageal perforation

Through our team-based approach, we provide 24 hour subspecialist oesophagogastric cover.
