Andrew's undergraduate training was at Guy's & St Thomas's Hospitals in London.  His basic surgical training was at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton and his higher surgical training in the Severn Deanery, cumulating in the award of his CCT in 2011. 

He has undertaken fellowship training in limb reconstruction and complex trauma management in Bristol and Paediatric Orthopaedics at the Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand.

Andrew was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Bristol in 2012 for his thesis on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome.

Since 2003 he has provided medical support to the Rugby Football Union as one of the team doctors with the England under 16 rugby squad.
