Paediatric ophthalmology
What we do
The Paediatric Eye Service manages all eye conditions in a young
person up to the age of 18 years. We also provide paediatric
ophthalmology A&E and separate specialist paediatric clinics
for uveitis, neuro-ophthalmology, genetics, complex strabismus and
paediatric cataracts as well as screening and treatment for
retinopathy of prematurity.
Outpatient clinics are held in the paediatric unit on the first
floor at Bristol Eye Hospital and also at Weston General Hospital.
Telephone and video consultations are also available.
Conditions we treat
We manage all eye conditions from the front to the back of the
eye in a person from 0-18 years. We work closely with Orthoptists
and Optometrists.
How to be referred
Patients need to be referred by their GP or by the Eye
department of another hospital.
