Eye Clinic Liaison Officer
The role of the Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) is to offer a
point of contact for anyone seeking emotional support, further
help, advice or assistance for themselves or their carers.
The eye clinic liaison officer can:
- provide emotional and practical support
- discuss how to lessen the impact your eye condition may have on
your life
- help patients to come to terms with their sight loss
- make referrals to other agencies that can help including
charities and social service
- provide a link to clinical staff
- complete CVIs and ensure that patients are registered in a
timely manner
- ensure that patients understand the benefits of
registration
- advocate for patients
