About us
We are a dynamic integrated team consisting of
research managers, trial coordinators, data coordinators, research
nurses, research radiographers and clinical trials officers, all
based on level 8 of Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.
The clinical trials unit (CTU) has been
operational since 1993 and currently manages over 250+ clinical
trials or studies. These range from simple genetic sampling and
observational studies through to the more complex chemotherapy and
radiotherapy trials. In recent years, our portfolio has expanded
and evolved to encompass vaccines, immunotherapies and more
individualised, targeted therapies.
As a key service within the hospital we work as
an integrated team supporting and facilitating patient treatment
options with the Principal Investigators and multidisciplinary
team. We strive to support and improve patient care.
