Members of the public are invited to the Annual Members' Meeting for University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UH Bristol), which will be held on Thursday 13 September 2018 at the Education and Research Centre, Upper Maudlin Street, Bristol BS2 8AE.

Similar to an AGM (annual general meeting), the event is an opportunity for the Trust to share its achievements of the past year and a look forward to the next. Doors open at 4.30pm with the meeting running from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

With eight hospitals in the centre and south of Bristol, including the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and Bristol Heart Institute, UH Bristol is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country and a major teaching and research centre for the South West of England.

Jeff Farrar, chair of the Trust, said: "With so much change taking place in the NHS - increased demand on services and increased pressure on staff and budgets - the Annual Members Meeting is an opportunity for people to find out more about current issues and plans for the future, and to ask any questions about our hospitals.

"This is my first year as Chair of the Trust, and in the last nine months I have met so many exceptional people working in the health and care sector across the region - and have seen how much we need to do, together, to keep our services moving forward. However, in the year that has seen the NHS turn 70, and our own Trust mark 10 years as a Foundation Trust, it is important to reflect on all that we have achieved as well as the challenges ahead."

At the meeting the Trust's 'Review of the Year' for 2017/18 will be presented by chief executive Robert Woolley and finance director, Paul Mapson. Chief nurse Carolyn Mills will talk about the progress the Trust has made against its annual quality improvement objectives. The meeting will also include an update from the chief clinical information officer about how the Trust is using digital technology to drive better patient care - followed by a question and answer session with the Board.

Any questions submitted in advanced will be answered on the night. To book your place and let us know any questions you would like answered during the meeting, please either email foundationtrust@uhbristol.nhs.uk or call 0117 342 3764, stating any access requirements. Alternatively, you can fill out a registration form available online at /healthmatters.
