Trust statement - 10 April
A University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation
Trust spokesperson said:
"We understand there has been some concern about social
distancing following a flashmob outside our hospitals last night (9
April).
"This initiative was organised by colleagues from health and
emergency services in Bristol as a surprise to thank key workers
for their efforts as part of 'clap for carers' which takes place on
Thursday evenings.
"We appreciate the tremendous work being carried out by
keyworkers across the country, and staff involved felt this was an
opportunity to express that thanks.
"While colleagues took provisions to distance themselves
outside the hospital, we acknowledge that the crowd of staff
watching does not demonstrate the right message in light of social
distancing and will remind those involved of observing these rules
in future."
