Recruitment partnership receives HSJ Award
University Hospitals Bristol is one of six local NHS
organisations involved in The Bristol, Weston and Bath NHS
Partnership Project (referred to as 'BNSSG') which is led by GRI,
an independent workforce management expert.
The project supported the cost effective recruitment of high
quality nursing and care staff across the region, and last night
(20/03/19) received the Procurement Support or Service Project of
the Year prize at the 2019 HSJ Partnership Awards.
Carolyn Mills, chief nurse at UH Bristol, said on behalf of
'BNSSG': "We are delighted as this award demonstrates that, by
working together, the NHS and industry can simultaneously achieve
high quality patient care and value for money, whilst continually
innovating the ways in which we engage and manage our vital
collective workforce.
"Ultimately, it is about harnessing value and innovation in
order to engage a workforce focused on delivering quality, safe and
cost-effective care to all our service users."
In this testing climate, GRI is helping 'BNSSG' to realise
significant efficiencies that include cost savings of over
£2.5million, the delivery of nearly 600,000 hours of quality care,
a single agreement and set of rates/terms and conditions now in
place and a centralised, integrated booking system with access to
real-time management information (MI). Critically, this is whilst
continually delivering the highest standards of patient care.
Andrew Preston, CEO - UK and COO - EMEA and APAC of GRI,
commented: "We are delighted to have secured HSJ Partnership
Awards' title for excellence in procurement for an additional year
- this time, in recognition of our partnership with our client
'BNSSG'.
"As a truly neutral recruitment outsourcing expert, we are
driven to provide our clients with the very best, sustainable
non-permanent staffing solutions.
"This serves as a further testament to our commitment and
aligned vision to drive better value in the supply chain and an
enhanced service delivery experience, whilst ensuring patient care
remains of paramount importance."
The HSJ Partnership Awards serve to recognise and celebrate the
most effective partnerships between the private and third sector
and the NHS, and projects that work for the benefit of the NHS and
its patients.
HSJ reported that all winners demonstrated outstanding
commitment to working in collaboration with the NHS through cutting
edge innovation and service provision.
HSJ editor Alastair McLellan said: "The innovation displayed by
our winners and finalists is impressive. It is also, of course,
vital to the service's sustainability and future.
"The HSJ Partnership Awards highlight the invaluable work
performed by the organisations that work alongside the NHS to
deliver first class patient care, shining a spotlight on their
efforts which are often unseen but essential.
"Each of the winners is delivering tangible benefits to NHS
patients, clinicians and the facilities they use, making a real
difference in these challenging economic times."
