RCN Centenary Tea Party
This year the Royal College of
Nursing celebrates a centenary as the voice of
nursing. The college grew from a meeting of a few
likeminded Nurses in 1916 to the Member led Voice of 435,000 Nurses
from all areas of care.
To mark the occasion of its 100th Anniversary,
local branches have been putting on celebratory events. In Bristol,
a centenerary tea party was held in the heart institute. Hosted by
the Greater Bristol Branch Chair and President with the Regional
Director Jeannett Martin, the tea party welcomed all.
Janet Plenty, peadiatric staff nurse, attended the tea party;
"Thank you so much RCN Bristol and especially Jeanette Jones
for putting on such a wonderful afternoon tea! It was ab fab! Loved
everything! Beautiful china, cakes and music. I think there should
be one every month for all the hardworking nurses in the
trust!"
With bunting, cake and even a jazz pianist, a wonderful time was
had by all. To find out more about the RCN centenary click here or for
