Planned staff training exercise 24/5/19

From 10am to 12pm today (Friday 24 May 2019), staff will be taking part in a live training exercise with Avon Fire & Rescue Service and other emergency services.

The exercise is to run through our process and plans in the event of a fire on the rooftop helipad of the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI).

There will be a large emergency service presence at the BRI, Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre and Bristol Heart Institute during the exercise.

The exercise will not affect the running of the hospital or any of the emergency services involved and if the helipad is needed it will be available as normal.

No fire alarms will sound as part of the exercise and no fire alarm tests are planned this morning. If anybody at the hospital hears an alarm, please treat it as a real alarm and follow the instructions provided.
