To mark this year's Inter Faith Week
there will be a range of events across our hospital sites between
Monday, 11 November and Tuesday 19 November 2019.
All events are free and are open to staff, patients, members of
the public and faith communities. Please see further details below,
book the sessions that you wish to attend and pass the details on
to your colleagues, friends and family.

on the essentials of good patient care from a faith perspective.
Each talk will be repeated throughout the afternoon and will take
place at 2 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 4 pm.
Arts and Culture - Second Wednesday Event: SPIRIT
18:30 - 20:00 Wednesday, 13November - Lecture Theatre 1,
Education and Research Centre, (opposite Bristol Royal Infirmary),
Upper Maudlin Street, Bristol, BS2 8AE. Bookings via Eventbrite at:
https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/uhbristolarts-second-wednesdays-spirit-tickets-71528360251
Spiritual care is important to all people, not only those who
express a religious belief. Patients have a constant need to make
sense of their circumstances, to find meaning in the events of
their day, their relationships and their life during periods of
illness and hospitalisation. Spiritual care recognises the
humanity, the uniqueness and the person-hood of everyone.
In his work as a hospital chaplain, Mark Read meets people who
are exploring issues related to their spirit, who are trying to
make sense of their experience and who are grappling with their
hopes and fears. Mark will talk about some of his work with
patients as an introduction to helping us discuss and explore the
healing connections between space, art, spirit and healing.
Health Matters Event: Faith in Health
16:00 - 17:30 Tuesday, 19November 2019 - Lecture Theatre 1,
Education and Research Centre, (opposite Bristol Royal Infirmary),
Upper Maudlin Street, Bristol, BS2 8AE. Bookings via www.uhbristol.nhs.uk/healthmatters or
telephone 0117 342 3764.
This event forms part of the Trust Health Matters Programme and
will explore the theme of "Faith in Health". It is a great
opportunity to help shape our health care in the future and to hear
the voice of people who sometimes feel their faith needs are not
recognised.
