Find out how your hospitals are doing at the UH Bristol Annual Members Meeting
If you would like to know more about the hospitals that serve
your local community, you are invited to join University Hospitals
Bristol NHS Foundation Trust (UH Bristol) for its Annual Members
Meeting/AGM on Thursday 21 September.
With eight hospitals in the centre and south of Bristol,
including the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Royal Hospital for
Children and Bristol Heart Institute, UH Bristol is one of the
largest NHS Trusts in the country and a major teaching and research
centre for the South West of England.
The Annual Members Meeting, which is open to all, will take
place at the Trust's Education and Research Centre on Upper Maudlin
Street, Bristol, from 5pm - 7pm. At the meeting the Trust's
'Review of the Year' for 2016/17 will be presented by chief
executive Robert Woolley and the finance director, Paul Mapson.
There will also be a talk from the Trust's sexual health team, who
will speak about the new integrated sexual health service for
Bristol which launched in April.
John Savage, chairman of the Trust, said: "The Annual Members
Meeting is an opportunity for people to find out about current
issues and ask any questions you may have about our hospitals.
"We would like to invite people to come to hear about our
challenges, our successes, and the progress that the Trust has made
over the last 12 months, such as the story behind the 'Outstanding'
rating that the Trust gained from the Care Quality Commission in
the year.
"We will also look at our plans for the year ahead. In these
times of constrained budgets and increasing pressures on our staff,
there will be a greater need than to work in new ways and
particularly to work in partnership with others, as we redesign our
health service to meet the needs of the population it serves."
To book your place and let us know any questions you would like
answered during the meeting, please either email us at foundationtrust@uhbristol.nhs.uk
or call on 0117 342 3764. Alternatively, you can fill out a
registration form available online at /healthmatters.
Any questions submitted in advanced will get priority during the
question and answer session, and refreshments will be available on
arrival.
The Trust's Annual Report and Accounts, which will be presented
at the meeting, can be found on the Trust's website: /about-us/key-publications/
