Event shows green side of city hospitals
An event this Thursday at University Hospitals Bristol will
highlight the link between health and the environment.
The event, hosted by UH Bristol's Big Green Scheme, takes place
in the tree-lined atrium of the Bristol Heart Institute on 25
September, from 10am to 2pm. Patients, visitors and the public are
welcome to attend and find out more about UH Bristol's hospitals'
green credentials, and what the Trust has planned to help further
reduce its environmental impact.
The Big Green Scheme promotes lifestyle choices aimed at
improving people's health and well-being. The scheme is also
working to reduce the Trusts environmental impact across all areas
including energy, transport and procurement.
The event will feature information and advice, samples and
testers, freebies and promotions on all things green.
The event comes in the same week as UH Bristol's South West
Green Energy Awards nomination, in the 'Most Proactive Public Body'
category. The Trust was nominated for its recognition of strong
links between a healthy environment and human health, as well as
its various green energy projects at different stages, including
solar panels on estate buildings, a sustainable behaviour campaign
and a combined heat and power system.
