Training Medical Physicists and Clinical Technologists.

We train other staff groups in aspects of radiation protection relevant to their work.

This includes teaching staff who are required under legislation or through their job description to attain a defined level of skill or knowledge in the field of ionising radiation, for example Specialist Registrars in radiology.

Staff Development

There is a CPD club and regular CPD meetings within the Group, and members are also encouraged to attend and participate in monthly Departmental Colloquia.

Members of the group are encouraged to be involved in Medical Physics activities outside the Department. Members of staff are, or have been, on the Council of the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), members of IPEM's Nuclear Medicine Special Interest Group and Nuclear Medicine Software Quality Group. and Informatics and Computing Special Interest Group.
