Ultrasound (US)

We provide routine ultrasound scientific support and safety advice to clinical ultrasound services, supporting approximately 100 ultrasound scanners in the region. Our services include:

  • Advice on procurement & equipment specification
  • Acceptance testing of new US scanners
  • Routine QA programmes
    • UHBW, North Bristol NHS Trust
    • Avon, Wiltshire, Somerset Breast Screening
    • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening (AAA)
  • User QA training
  • Troubleshooting of image artefacts and poor performance
  • Scientific/technical support for clinical US teams
    • Protocols/SOPs
    • US safety
    • New technology (e.g. elastography)
