Consultant in Palliative Medicine. Works clinically half
time and for the University of Bristol half time. One of
three consultants on the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust
advisory palliative care team, a multidisciplinary team supporting
staff in providing general palliative care for patients, and
advising on patients with complex or specialist palliative care
needs. The teams sees inpatients on all UH Bristol wards, has a
weekly outpatient clinic and liaises closely with St Peter's
Hospice staff, who provide community palliative care input once
patients are discharged from hospital.
Professorial appointment on the basis of University teaching
role - runs the palliative care and oncology teaching for the final
year of the medical undergraduate programme and is currently final
year lead. Also runs a Masters programme in Palliative
Medicine at the University of Bristol.
