Professional profile/background:

I graduated from the University of Bristol and have completed
most of my surgical training in Bristol and the south-west of
England. I spent six months at the University of Toronto, Canada on
an International Colorectal Fellowship, where I acquired specialist
training in surgery for complex inflammatory bowel disease,
colonoscopy and laparoscopic surgery. I also spent one year
teaching anatomy at the University of Cambridge.
My major interests include colorectal surgery, colonoscopy and
bowel cancer screening. I have particular expertise in the
management of inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer,
colonoscopy and benign anorectal conditions. I am involved in
ongoing research within the fields of colorectal cancer and
inflammatory bowel disease.
Personal profile:
I am married, with two children. I am a member of the Bristol
and Clifton Golf club and am an avid follower of any sport. I am
especially interested in rugby, golf and cricket. My other major
interests are travelling and music.
